KILLSWITCH ENGAGE To Embark On 'Alive Or Just Breathing' 10th-Anniversary Tour

October 1, 2012

Massachusetts metallers KILLSWITCH ENGAGE will celebrate the 10th anniversary of their landmark release, 2002's genre-defining "Alive Or Just Breathing", by performing the entire album during their U.S. headlining tour in November/December. Support on the trek will come from SHADOWS FALL and ACARO.

"I honestly never thought I would have the opportunity to sing these songs on stage with KILLSWITCH again," singer Jesse Leach said. "Now here I am back in the band and celebrating 10 years of the release of this record. I am absolutely thrilled for this tour. I can't wait to sing 'Rise inside' and 'Just Barely Breathing', among others. On top of it all, we have our good friends in SHADOWS FALL and ACARO joining us. This tour will be one we will all remember!"

Guitarist Joel Stroetzel echoed those sentiments, saying, "We're all looking forward to this tour! It's going to be a great time on all levels. Playing songs we haven't played in many years, celebrating the 10th anniversary of 'Alive Or Just Breathing' with Jesse now back in the band, and just hanging out with some great old friends — we're psyched."

Advance tickets for all shows will be $20.02, in honor of the year the album was released. The band will also be making a limited number of tickets available per show for the price of $5.21, in honor of the date the album was released, to military personnel with the help of VetTix.org. KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's April 22 performance at at the New England Metal & Hardcore Festival marked the band's first concert with Leach in more than nine years.

Leach sang on the band's first self-titled album, which came out in 2000, and on "Alive Or Just Breathing". Leach left the band in 2002 and was replaced by Howard Jones, but his work on "Alive Or Just Breathing" has always been revered by diehard, longtime KILLSWITCH ENGAGE fans.

KILLSWITCH ENGAGE is hard at work on material for the follow-up to 2009's second self-titled album. The new effort is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2013 via Roadrunner Records.

In an interview with the "Brock And The Fatguy" radio show, Jesse stated about KILLSWITCH ENGAGE's new material, "I have the 14 demos for the new KILLSWITCH record, and let me tell you, I'm glad that KILLSWITCH is gonna have the opportunity to write another record with me — or a few more, God willing. I can tell you right now from the demos, the people are gonna be really surprised; they're setting the bar up high once again. It's really fast and it's really heavy. It's not what people are going to anticipate, I'm sure. I literally am getting chills right now talking about it. It's gonna blow the doors off people, man. It's gonna be great."
